tween scene, models ella and nina give us the middle school lowdown

When it came to our tween fall campaign shoot, we already had two cool, confident, carefree, and super sweet girls in mind. Ella and Nina go to my daughter Belle's school—they're two years older—and both always stood out as great girls. We were excited when they said "yes," and I think they had fun too! Get a glimpse into their style, music, middle school savvy, and more below.

What is your favorite Pink Chicken outfit? How would you accessorize it? ELLA: The Addison dress in Moroccan blue Indian floral. I would probably wear it with a belt and some type of cute necklace.

NINA: My favorite outfit would be the navy Raleigh dress. I would wear it with brown or black boots and a short necklace. Since there are both stripes and a floral pattern, I wouldn't want to overdo it and accessorize too much.

What are you most looking forward to on the first day of school? ELLA: I'm looking forward to seeing my friends, getting to meet knew people, and getting to see the curriculum I'm going to be learning for the next year. NINA: I'm really looking forward to seeing all of my friends on the first day of school. I really missed them over the summer, so being able to hang out with them in the beginning of the year is exciting. If there's one thing you'd tell people about middle school, it's… ELLA: Middle school, no offense to lower school, is probably the best unit of the whole school. It's so fun and the teachers are super nice. NINA: The one thing I would tell people about middle school is that it's not as scary as it might seem. Just enjoy it and work hard. Have fun! I really enjoy being in middle school, and I think it's nice to have more freedom and independence.

Tell us about your favorite band or recording artist! ELLA: Taylor Swift and Sara Bareilles—both are my favorite artists. NINA: There are a lot of music artists I like, but some of my favorites are Nicki Minaj, One Direction, and Wiz Khalifa. I mostly listen to pop music, but lately I've been getting to know more rap music, which I'm starting to like. What's your go-to Saturday afternoon activity in city? ELLA: I really like to go out to movies or go to an art museum. It's nice to take a break from school and homework. NINA: My go-to Saturday afternoon activity would probably be shopping with friends. I LOVE shopping, so I'll go anytime I can. I also like getting exercise and playing tennis in the park with my family. The heat is on—this is your last chance for summer sale shopping, so get to it!
